What Inspired AWC?
My love for all things art, wine, and culture (well at least art and
culture—the wine I came into on my own (wink)—comes from my Mom. Growing up, my mother was intent on exposing me to various cultural experiences that helped to broaden my horizon and shape my love of the arts today. There were countless weekends with my mother taking me to New York to visit a museum, concert, Broadway show, or simply local community theater; one of my fondest memories is us visiting the Guggenheim with its collections famously displayed in a spiral that forever stays imprinted on your brain.
My mother knew what I am learning is so gravely important… opening yourself up to new and engaging experiences in this world, and sharing in others’ that you normally may not, helps you dream bigger and have more fun on the way as you discover your own path.
I love to travel and immerse myself in other cultures. I believe this makes us more compassionate and opens us up to encounter the world in a way that brings about healing for both ourselves and others.
